Dealing with an overactive bladder can have major effects on every part of your life. Many people who suffer from this illness avoid vacations and some of the simplest things in life, like going out to dinner. The fear of being unable to control the urge often times robs people of many fun family affairs. It is quite unsettling when you are unable to control that part of your body. So what are some of the ways that people treat this particular condition?

Well, there are many treatment options, ranging anywhere from medications to behavioral changes. However, for those who don’t like to rely upon medications as the only source of aid, here are two natural treatments that are worth trying. One of these treatments is known as bladder training. When you undergo bladder training, you simply set a bathroom schedule for yourself. You no longer go to the restroom whenever you feel the urge; you simply try to control your urge by waiting. Just remember to start of slow. The first time around try to control your urge for about 15 minutes. Then you basically increase your time intervals as you start to gain more control.

Another way to control your overactive bladder naturally is by completing pelvic floor exercises. Just like any other muscles, you can strengthen the muscles that control urination. These particular exercise moves are known as Kegels. What you do is you tighten, hold, and then relax the muscles that you use to start and stop the flow of urination. Do this exercise a few times a day at first and then build yourself up to three sets of ten. These are just a couple all natural treatments for overactive bladder. If you suffer from this condition, give them a try and maybe you will be able to enjoy all things in life again.
