A man’s nutrition varies greatly from a woman’s. Women like to buy their vegetables, fruit, granola, and other healthy snacks. But when you look into a man’s shopping cart, you will see a lot of hungry man dinners, hot pockets, and chips. Their definition of a good meal may be different, but just like women; men need proper nutrition in order to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Some of healthiest food choices that a man can succumb to are beets, cabbage, guava, and Swiss chard. Beets are the best source of folate and betaine. Both of these compounds work together in order to lower a man’s blood level of homocysteine. This particular inflammatory compound can damage the arteries and increase the chances of heart disease. Therefore, eating a few beets surely seems like a fair trade when it comes down to improving your heart health. Another healthy food for men is cabbage. Cabbage provides the male body with a chemical known as sufforaphane. This particular chemical increases the body’s production of enzymes thereby disarming cell damaging free radicals. This reduces the man’s chance of developing various cancers.

And a third male-healthy food is guava. Guava is an exceptional food choice because it contains more lycopene than any other food. Lycopene is an antioxidant which helps the male body protects itself from developing prostate cancer. Tomatoes are also a good source of lycopene, but not quite as rich in the compound as guava.  And last and not least, the male body can benefit greatly from consuming Swiss chard. This particular product contains lutein and zeaxanthin, both of which protect the retinas from the damage which develops with age. So if you are a male trying to adopt healthy eating habits, try to incorporate some of these foods into your daily diet.
