Do you feel like you are always hungry? Some people can’t
seem to escape the feeling of hunger. They may have just finished a fulfilling meal,
yet an hour later they can feel the urge to munch. It is something that occurs
naturally, but the real question is, can it be prevented?
The answer is yes. There are certain foods which can suppress
your appetite. One of these foods is an apple. Apples are extremely high in
fiber and studies reveal that the more fiber you consume the slower the rise of
your blood sugar. When your blood sugar rises slowly then you have higher
chances of maintaining your hunger hormones in balance. Furthermore, apples
require more chewing time which in turn gives your body more time to register
that you are no longer hungry. And as an added bonus, remember that apples
serve as a natural inflammatory.
Another way to get more fiber into your diet is to consume
more ground flaxseed. Flaxseed is not only enriched with fiber but it also provides
the body with beneficial omega 3 fats. You can add this particular product into
your smoothies, salads, oatmeal, and yogurt (to name a few). As for dining out,
remember not to go to a restaurant when you are overcome with hunger. This will
lead you to overeat or consume foods that you would not normally eat. But if
you happen to be in that situation, remember to order a salad or a cup of soup
prior to ordering your actual meal. The salad will slow down the entrance of
glucose into your bloodstream and make you less hungry. This way you will not request
the biggest meal on the menu when it comes down to ordering your dinner or
lunch. So if you feel like you are in a constant battle with hunger, remember
that the solution can be as simple as throwing an apple or two in your daily
travel bag.
